What's New in Version 2
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version 2 was completely redesigned to provide an intuitive interface
with easy to use controls for manipulation of all aspects of the design,
as well as many new and exciting features.

New Features-

-> Redesigned windows interface
-> Multiple video modes and resolutions now supported
-> Faster and more efficient hologram calculation algorithms
-> 40 design slots with Cut, Copy, and Paste capabilities
-> Easier to use Palette controls
-> Background Effects
-> 3D Effects
-> Music Response
-> Buddy Window
-> Bitmap Creation

------------------------------------------------------------------------
System Requirements for v2
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The minimum system requirements for running the Holographic Screen
Saver v2 are

-> Pentium II 233MHz or Higher
-> 32Mb Ram
-> DirectX 5.0 or later and a CD-ROM drive for Music response
-> Windows 95/98/NT4(with service pack 3.0)/2000
-> Mouse

Recommended system requirements (just differences noted)-

-> Pentium II 350MHz
-> 64Mb Ram

The programs memory usage and speed is highly dependent on the current
display mode that it runs in. If you notice the program running poorly,
close the program and switch to a lower video mode. Often this will
speed the program up considerably.

Instructions for Installation and Removal
------------------------------------------------------------------------

* If you are upgrading from a previous version of the Holographic Screen
Saver, you will need to un-install the previous version first. If you
wish to save your designs, you will need to copy the file holossv2.dat
to another directory, install v2.23, then copy the file back to the
new directory. When asked if you'd like to overwrite the file, say Yes.

To Install the Holographic Screen Saver, follow these steps-

1. Using a program like WinZip or PKUnzip, extract the contents of
   the file holoss.zip into a temporary folder. Visit our links page
   for a link to WinZip at http://www.virtual-creations.com/links.html
2. When the program is finished extracting, run the newly extracted
   file named Setup.exe.
3. Setup.exe will guide you through the installation process.

*Note...If while running Setup.exe you get a message that you will need
to restart your computer to continue, you will have to restart and run
Setup.exe again. This is because the Setup.exe program requires some of
its own files to run.

To Remove the Holographic Screen Saver, follow these steps-

1. In your Control Panel, click Add Remove Programs.
2. Scroll down the list of files until you find the Holographic Screen
   Saver. Select it and click OK.
3. You will be guided through the process of removing the program.
